A heart attack at the age of 35 changed my life.
It didn’t make sense, though. I ate well and worked out regularly. But when I looked closer at my life, there was one aspect of my health I’d ignored: my mental health. I’d been having panic attacks since I was 18 when I was balancing the demands of going to college, completing vocational school, and back-breaking work at a furniture factory. Getting married, having a child, and going to medical school turned up the pressure and made me more anxious.
Being stressed out became a way of life for me.
I’m Frank Martinez-Mesa, a licensed neuropsychologist serving Miami, FL, and the surrounding neighborhoods of Coral Gables, Brickell, Doral, Pinecrest, Dadeland, and South Miami. Sitting in my hospital bed, I decided to make radical changes to my life. My journey to overcome chronic stress and anxiety, combined with my medical knowledge, has become my area of expertise since becoming a health and neuropsychologist.
You can let go of anxiety, stress, and depression as a lifestyle, too.
And it’s easier than you think…when you have the right support. That’s where I can help you. My experience taught me the importance of mental health on the progression of chronic disease – whether it’s heart disease, high blood pressure, chronic pain, headaches/migraines, chronic fatigue, or a major diagnosis like cancer or diabetes. I recovered my physical and mental health, and now I help others (like you) to do the same.
Sorry! We know you had your heart set on working with him.

Anxiety & Panic Attacks
Overthinking, nervousness, intruding thoughts, sweaty palms, avoidance, pounding heart beat, and muscle tension – you know these signs if you have anxiety and panic attacks. Both feel overwhelming. Both keep you tense and exhausted. You don’t have to keep living this way. Effective therapy can help you feel more relaxed and calmer so you can be your best and enjoy your life.
Neuropsychological Testing
Neuropsychological testing helps answer complex questions about a person’s cognitive abilities, including what’s happening, why it’s happening, and their likelihood for improvement. This type of evaluation is best for people who have experienced a head injury, undergone chemotherapy, showing signs of poor memory or inability to learn new information, and struggling with attention and concentration difficulties.
